Adelmo Monsalve-GonzálezPh.D., M.Sc., CFS.

Principal

Dr. Adelmo Monsalve-González is a food scientist with over 25 years of experience in product and process development in the food and pet industry with a proven track record of success in developing and introducing innovative and profitable food products at General Mills, Clorox, Post Brands, and the JM Smucker/Pet Brands across the U.S. and Latin America markets.

  • Accomplished in leading cross-functional teams by effectively developing new or improved products, quality metrics, analytical methodology, ingredient technology, enterprise-level cost-saving programs, and commercialization programs.
  • Leveraged expertise in alternative proteins and starch nutrition and functionality on human and pet food formulation (C5) and processing and applications with a broad range of technologies across grain-based processes, such as bran bleaching, emulsion, cereal/pet food extrusion/co-extrusion, gun puffing, flaked, milled, sheeted, and shredded cereal technologies.
  • Communicate effectively in English and Spanish on technical and business aspects of product development and commercialization.

Adelmo is the inventor and coinventor of nine U.S. patents and applications, author and co-author of more than 15 peer-reviewed technical publications, and current peer-reviewer for the Journal of Food Chemistry. Adelmo earned his B.Sc. in Biology from the Universidad Central of Venezuela. Also, M.Sc., Ph.D. in Food and Cereal Chemistry, and a Post-doctoral in Biosystem Engineering from Washington State Univesity in Pulman, WA.
